About Samantha Hanson LPC, ATR, MS

Samantha has been trained to use scientifically studied therapies including, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and art therapy. She uses a combination of approaches including, client centered, narrative, mindful, somatic and trauma informed care. 

She offers a combined approach for those interested in both art therapy and traditional counseling. Please note that art therapy may look differently in a virtual setting — you may or may not want to use your own supplies during before or after a session, and instead put an emphasis on “metaphors” as a different way of visualizing the problems and solutions at hand. 

Samantha is known to work with concerns including, daily stress or stressors related to work and family, difficulty adjusting, gender and identity, LGBTQ+IA, physical illness, chronic pain and fatigue, emotional irregularities, personality disorders, foster care and adoption, and trauma. 

She is an ally, body positive, and alternative lifestyle friendly.

Samantha has seen first hand how her clients have been able to share their stories in a safe, confidential space — and in doing so, redefine their journey.
