ABOUT Dr. Sara Jordan

Dr. Sara Jordan has been a licensed psychotherapist since 2004. Dr. Jordan is known for being relatable and  direct. People seek her out because they need someone who sees through BS, and focuses on problem solving. Sara has an expert ability to track your inner process and follow a client’s natural enthusiasm toward their personal happiness.Dr. Jordan’s philosophy of “Open Space”  provides her with a a mind set of transparency, discernment and non-judgement. “Open Space” allows for new creative ways of thinking to emerge, and supports being present in the here and now where infinite possibility exists. Sara is accepting new clients at her hybrid private practice physically located in Madison, WI.

Community health is important to Dr. Jordan. Sara’s dedication to community health includes  her successful facilitation of community mosaic murals in various states and countries. Sara observes these acts of beautification and community self expression increase a sense of belonging and joy.

Education:She received her BA in International Relations from American University in Washington DC, her Masters of Art Therapy and Counseling from a transpersonal perspective in Santa Fe, NM and her doctorate in Expressive Arts from The European Graduate School in Switzerland.  Through the unique lens of multiple international and domestic cultures Sara has learned to see the  patterns of the human experience. Dr. Jordan credits her amazing education, advisors, supervisors and peers for supporting her “OPEN SPACE” approach which highlights meeting each client where they are in their life as a sacred space.

Dr. Jordan has an enjoyable and longstanding career. She has worked with all ages of people, and in variety of settings. Sara has developed art therapy programs for residential settings treating addiction, family dynamics, depression and anxiety. Sara’s work focuses on bringing the best out of people and communities. She loves supporting other therapists rejuvenate and has taught numerous continuing education classes that teach learn how to incorporate the arts and creativity into talk therapy.
